AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia cancelled each other out in a 0-0 draw at the Nyayo National Stadium as Kenya Premier League action resumed after the international break.

Prior to kick off, both sides of the coaching divide were clear in stating that they understood the meaning of the three points on offer, K'Ogalo and Ingwe knowing that not winning would profit others in the title race.

The coaches on both sides Sinisa Mihic and Fred Ambani, both facing their first derby were categorical that their boys would be ready for the match.

Boniface Munyendo had the best opportunity to secure the points for Leopards but he blazed his effort over the bar midway through the first half.

Gor on the other hand should have won it but for a glaring miss from Shariff Juma 18 minutes into the second half.

In the end, it proved to be the case that none of the two sides deserved to lose.

The result means that Gor remain third on the KPL log with 43 points.

They are five behind leaders Kenya Police who saw off Posta Rangers 1-0 in Machakos courtesy of a second half goal from the on form Mohamed Bajaber.

Leopards remain fifth but now sit 11 points behind Police though they have played a game less.

In Mumias, Kakamega Homeboyz held the visitors KCB to a 2-2 draw at a packed Mumias Stadium.

KCB took the lead through Derrick Otieno on 20 minutes but Homeboyz hit back not long after with Moses Shumah making the difference for the home team.

In the second half, KCB, who are still in the title picture retook the lead via Stephen Etyang on 52 minutes but Homeboyz would not he denied, with substitute Peter Thiong'o doing the business to earn the home side a point.

Shabana strolled past Murang'a Seal 3-0 in Kisii.
